Our family always has a big get-together each New Years, where we gather to watch the Rose Parade, football games, and have a big lunch with lots of cake and desserts. So this year, I thought I’d get inspired to create our own float — in cake! My daughters and I made a candy waterfall cake, and the “sushi” cake. The instructions are clear, and we learned a lot about working with fondant that we didn’t know before.
Using balloon sticks, we were able to coat and hold up the different items “spilling” candies and soy sauce onto our cakes. The cakes turned out much better than I’d thought they might, and everyone was thrilled — a big hit! My family said the cakes were better than the parade floats! Regardless, this book is a great way to add fun and creative elements to all kinds of fun cakes.
